University of Colorado Denver

The University of Colorado at Denver has had a long standing relationship with The Alliance Center, namely through Dr. Ramaswami, professor of Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.  In the spring of 2010, the group of students in Dr. Ramaswami’s class partnered with Phillip Saieg, Director of The Alliance Center, to compose a Greenhouse Gas Inventory of the building.  The students compiled an outline for the project consisting of: benchmark values, evaluation of current practices, assessing shared services, collaborative evaluation and final recommendations.

The Alliance Center received a full report detailing the steps the students took, their findings, and their recommendations on what can and should be improved.  This will be an invaluable product to use as a benchmark for the building.  The students received hands-on experience and invaluable information regarding greenhouse gas initiatives.
