Sustainable Pueblo

What is the mission of Sustainable Pueblo?

The purpose of Sustainable Pueblo is to develop and implement an open and broad community process
for setting and measuring sustainable development priorities that generate positive change in the community.

Who is Sustainable Pueblo?

There are Workgroup Chairs who together serve as a planning and coordinating body designed to facilitate broader community outreach and participation.  Anyone is welcome to participate in the Workgroups. In fact, we encourage participation from as many sectors and viewpoints as possible. All members participate as individuals and work to find common ground. Individuals who are interested in sustainable development, but with less time or inclination to serve on Workgoups, will be kept informed of meetings and outcomes.

How is this organized?

This is a not-for-profit, true community effort. There is a community Chair and Chairs of the various Sustainable Pueblo Workgroups. Sustainable Pueblo was initially facilitated by The Keystone Center, a neutral non-profit organization that has helped leaders in the public, private, and civic sectors advance good public policy since 1975, to help Pueblo avoid a boom-bust cycle from the influx of new, short-lived construction/demilitarization projects.
Sustainable Pueblo Workgroup meetings are open to the public and are typically held once per month. Information and orientation sessions are open to the public and are typically held once per quarter at various locations around Pueblo.
