Colorado School of Mines

Phillip Saieg, Director of the Alliance Center, worked closely with a group of students in the EPICS Program at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado to receive detailed information on how to best pursue the Living Building Challenge award.  Phillip presented the group with a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), which provided a set of guidelines and requirements that the students had to follow.  The end goal of this project was to find out what the Alliance needs to do in order to successfully complete the Living Building Challenge scorecard.

Through this the students received invaluable knowledge on project management and consulting within the sustainable business field.  Working on a live-case while in college provides insight into real world experience.  Through this partnership, the Alliance received important information on what must be completed and accomplished in order to receive this additional form of sustainable building recognition.
