Government plays a key role in our lives at all levels (federal, state and local) and through all three branches (executive, legislative and judicial) Each day, everyone of us interacts with government: decisions we make, freedoms we enjoy, and protections we deserve are all shaped by policies and laws. From the steps of the Capitol to our homes, we have the opportunity to shape the city, town or state where we live by getting involved and using our voices to tell our elected officials what matters to us. Policy issues impact sustainability through social, environmental and economic ways and the decisions made in our branches of government have long-term impacts on us all.
