Partners in building a sustainable future
The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, as the cornerstone partner for Living City Block’s Denver project, benefits from the services provided by the US Department of Energy and National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Commercial Building Partnerships. Among these services is an in-depth energy analysis and overall assistance for the Alliance’s Modeling a NetZero Future Project, which aims to offer a cost-effective and replicable framework for renovating existing buildings to become energy neutral.

In order to create a more resilient, energy efficient and desirable urban environments that can meet an ever-increasing demand for energy and other resources, we must develop a new paradigm for retrofitting our existing city neighborhoods.” Living City Block
With these facts as the main drivers of the organization, Living City Block not only strives to adapt existing urban areas into energy efficient, and even energy neutral, locations, but to also improve employment rates and the tax structure. It understands that in order to succeed in environmental stewardship the economic and social benefits must improve as well. Although LCB was established in Denver in 2010, one of its biggest goals is to develop a model which can be successfully implanted in any city across the country, and eventually, the globe. To do this it must build relationships with building owners, the local government leaders, and specialists within the field of building efficiency.
