Qualities of a Good Educational Sign

Exhibit Rule of 3
3 seconds – The typical viewer spends 3 seconds looking at the title of a large panel or multi-panel exhibit, the
initial engagement.
30 seconds – If interested, the viewer will typically spend 30 seconds absorbing the main text.
3 minutes – If still interested, some people will spend another 3 minutes engaging more fully in subtext and captions.

These symbols identify the theme of each educational panel found in the alliance Center . The themes are based
on the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) categories.

The Alliance Center is open for self-guided tours M-F, 9-5:00pm. Please download the self-guided tour brochure (PDF)

Guided tours are offered at 2pm on the 1st Friday of each month and meet in the first floor lobby. Group tours can be arranged by appointment. Please contact us for more information.
