Thousands of different volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are produced and used in our daily lives. Chemicals such as benzene, toluene, chloride and formaldehyde are found in vinyl flooring, cleaning supplies, building materials, furnishings and office copiers. The Alliance Center minimizes VOCs through its careful choices of low and no VOC paint, wood sealers, adhesives, flooring, furniture, wall board and doors.
Operating a non-toxic building to improve indoor air quality and health of people in the building, the Alliance Center has only low emitting VOC products. That philosophy extends to choices of paint, naturally based wood primers and preservations, carpet adhesive and furniture.
