Wall Sensor

Lighting typically consumes 30-40% of an office building’s energy bill, yet many areas are unoccupied for extended periods of time.

In an effort to reduce energy consumption, occupancy sensors, which detect when a room is unoccupied and turn off the lights, have been installed throughout the Alliance Center.  Conversely, when someone enters a room, the lights automatically turn on.  Since people emit heat, occupancy sensors use passive infrared technology to detect human presence.  The sensors are able to detect motion from up to 35 feet away, with an area as large as 900 sq. feet.  The view finder has a 180 degree range.  If adequate daylight is present, the sensors will hold lights off until natural light levels drop, regardless of occupancy.
