Computer

The Alliance Center switched from pneumatic (air pressure) temperature controls to computerized direct digital controls (DDC) to set heating and cooling levels.

 • The DDC system allows engineers to customize the temperature and air flow in zones throughout the building.

• The system monitors the internal climate of the building, minimizing energy costs without sacrificing comfort.

• System managers can see and change current heating and cooling settings online, which can be changed with the click of a mouse.

 • The DDC software has “load shedding capabilities,” which can heat or cool zones sequentially, reduce demand, and avoid peak energy usage, thereby reducing our monthly electric bill.

The Alliance Center DDC System will reduce electrical consumption by 10 to 30%.
